A 12-hour long 'National Freelancers Conference' will be held in Dhaka on Saturday (August 19) with 3,000 young, mid-level, and successful freelancers from across the country.

The organisers claim that the event -- to be held at Dhaka's International Convention City, Bashundhara (ICCB) Hall-4 -- will be the "largest freelancer conference in Asia."

The Facebook based tech community, Freelancers of Bangladesh (FOB), said this at a press conference held on Thursday in the city's Gulshan area.

The organisers of the conference informed that the conference, being held for the first time, will be inaugurated by the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Mustafa Jabbar.

CEO of Viser X Limited, Faisal Mustafa, said that all preparation has been taken to make the conference successful. The response has been amazing so far, he added.

The event will be sponsored by Next Ventures and mobile financial service provider bKash.

Top professionals, entrepreneurs, freelancers and policymakers will be present at the event. Among them, Google's Bangladesh and Sri Lanka region industry lead, Golam Kibria, will conduct a special session. Imran Ali, a very popular trainer among freelancers, will be connected virtually as a GFX Mentor.

CEO of InstructoryRifat M Haq, Founder and CEO of Codman BD Minhajul Asif and top rated freelancer of Fiver and founder of DewapplesKamruzzamanShishir highlighted various aspects of the event in the press conference.

They said that apart from freelancing skills, the participants will also receive training in the technical and legal aspects of becoming entrepreneurs, in addition to workshops to gain skills in new fields. The day-long event will be followed by a cultural programme for the participants, where popular band Black will perform.
