Rupganj Correspondent: Islami Chhatra Shibir has vehemently denounced the terrorist attack that occurred on Sunday at Murapara Government College in Rupganj, Narayanganj, and called for prompt legal action against those responsible.

To address the incident, the organisation organised a press briefing at the college auditorium later that day.

In a written statement, Imran Hasan Tuhin, Narayanganj District Publicity Secretary of Chhatra Shibir, stated that a group of 10 to 20 attackers led by local Chhatra Dal members — Chanchal Pradhan, Mahbub Bhuiyan, and Likhon Pradhan — launched the assault on the college’s student help desk.

He said, “This attack on a peaceful and student welfare-focused initiative is a disgraceful attempt to disrupt democratic practices and destroy the educational environment. Chhatra Shibir has always maintained peaceful and student-friendly activities, but unfortunately, a particular group cannot tolerate this and has resorted to violence.”

He called for the immediate identification and strict punishment of those involved and urged students, teachers, and college authorities to work together to ensure a safe and peaceful academic environment.

Other attendees included college unit members Sainul Hasan Shanto, Imran Hasan, Md. Shahin Akand, Md. Shuvo Sarkar, Arafat Hossain Arif, and Azarul Islam Nahid.

Chhatra Shibir reaffirmed its commitment to working for student welfare through peaceful means.
