Islami Chhatra Andolon has become the first student organisation to announce a possible full panel for the upcoming Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) elections.

Mahbubur Rahman Nahiyan, General Secretary of the organisation announced the names of their probable candidates for all 28 central Ducsu posts on Thursday afternoon in front of the DUCSU building.

As per the announcement, Yasin Arafat, a former leader of Islami Chhatra Andolon at DU, will run for Vice President. Khairul Ahsan Marjan, also a former general secretary, will contest the General Secretary position.

For Assistant General Secretary, the candidate is Saif Mohammad Alauddin, current secretary of the DU Islami Chhatra Andolon chapter.

Though they have announced their panel, the organisation left open the possibility of running a coalition candidate. Nahiyan said at the press conference that talks are ongoing with several organisations for a united panel.

Noting that they are open to forming alliances for the greater interest of students, Nahiyan added, "If a coalition benefits students and the campus, we are ready to participate unitedly in the election."

The electoral manifesto promises improved facilities for female students, including electric fans and air conditioning in dormitories, and the digitisation of the registrar's office.

They pledged to ensure a safe, non-discriminatory, and tolerant learning environment and promised 100% housing facilities, along with improving hostel standards.

The manifesto also highlights expanding research-based scholarships, enhancing lab facilities, establishing digital libraries, smart classrooms, and upgrading online classes and exams.

To tackle corruption and harassment, they propose student complaint cells at department and dormitory levels.

They also committed to improving medical services, launching mental health helplines and counselling, and guaranteeing career guidance, internships, and skill training.

The manifesto calls for transparent use of student funds, political coexistence among student organisations, and building a democratic campus through cooperation with the administration.
