Director General of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Dr Benazir Ahmed has said that militant offensive is being carried out in the name of Islam. This is an international conspiracy. Islamic thinkers have to talk about this. Because Islam does not support militancy in any way.  The philosophy of militancy does not go with Islam.  Together, we must stand against the spread of militancy.  He said that social media is one of the places to spread terrorism. We can’t believe everything of social media.  We have to investigate which is false and which is rumoured, he added.

He was speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of the new students of the 2019-2020 academic year at the University of Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences (CVASU) auditorium on Tuesday afternoon. Calling upon the new students to stay away from drugs, the Director General of RAB said, Bangladesh is in your hands in the future.  You are the holder and carrier of Bangladesh's heritage.  You have immense potential.  Your goal is to become a 'Global Citizen'.  You will one day lead the world.

Vice-Chancellor of the University Dr. Gautam Buddha Das presided over the meeting.  Chittagong Range DIG Khandaker Golam Faruk and Chittagong Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md. Mahabubur Rahman, CVASU Fisheries Science Dean Prof Dr Nurul Absar Khan and Veterinary Medicine Dean Prof Abdul Ahad were present on the occasion.

On the occasion, CVASU Register Mirza Faruq Imam, Rab-7 Chittagong Commander Lt. Col. Mashiur Rahman Jewel, CMP Additional Police Commissioner Ameena Begum, Chittagong Superintendent of Police Nur Alam Mina and senior teachers of the University were present.   It should be noted that in the 2019-2020 academic year a total of 245 students were enrolled in 3 faculties of this University (Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Food Science and Technology and Fisheries).  For the first time in the country, all these students got the chance to get admission through the admission test of 7 agriculture related universities.
