Ishwardi UZ admin plants trees marking Nat’l Mourning Day

On the occasion of National Mourning Day on 15 August, a tree planting program has been carried out at the initiative of Ishwardi Upazila Administration of Pabna. The program was held at noon on Thursday on the occasion of 'Mujib Centenary National Mourning Day-2020' as a token of respect to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

25 saplings were planted at different places of the Upazila Parishad premises. The saplings of these trees include fruits, forest and herbs.

 Upazila Parishad Chairman Muktijoddha Nuruzzaman Biswas, UNO Shihab Raihan, Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mamtaz Mahal, Vice Chairman Abdus Salam Khan, Atia Ferdous Kakli, Social Service Officer Khandaker Mohammad Masud Rana took part in the tree planting program on Thursday  afternoon. 

Besides, various programs have been taken by the upazila administration on the occasion of National Mourning Day on August 15. The program includes wreath-laying at the portrait of Bangabandhu at Muktijoddha Complex premises at 9 am, discussion meeting on Bangabandhu's biography in the Upazila Conference Room at 10:30 am and prize distribution ceremony among the winners of song, painting, composition and poetry recitation competitions.
