International School Dhaka (ISD) has opened registration for its Carnegie Mellon Robotics Training Programme, inviting students from across the city to participate in September. The interdisciplinary program aims to equip young learners with technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking to benefit them academically and professionally.

The eight-week program begins on 6 September 2025, with 90-minute sessions every Saturday starting at 9:00 am at the ISD Design Center. Students will be grouped according to their grade level and proficiency, under the guidance of George Carrington, ISD Head of Design and Carnegie Mellon Robotics Academy Certified Instructor.

The program offers multiple levels tailored to age and experience. Grades 4-5 can join the Beginner LEGO Robotics Program for BDT 15,000, learning to design and code LEGO robots while mastering programming fundamentals. Grades 6-7 can participate in the Intermediate VEX IQ program (BDT 20,000), focusing on coding logic, sensor input, and decision-making through hands-on challenges. For Grades 8-10, the Advanced Intermediate VEX EXP program (BDT 20,000) introduces real-time feedback systems, algorithmic thinking, and robotics applications. Grades 11-12 can opt for the Advanced VEX V5 and REV Robotics program (BDT 25,000), studying autonomous systems, data flow, and AI-based robotics concepts. Registration closes on 1 September 2025. Interested families can contact ISD or visit https://forms.gle/eJ2hCMr8wUM9GTwm8 for details.

Upon completion, participants will receive platform-specific certifications, including LEGO Robotics, VEX IQ, VEX EXP, or V5 certifications.

Speaking about the program, Carrington said, “This is an excellent opportunity for young minds to explore robotics while developing collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, providing a solid foundation for their future STEM education and careers.”
