Government rice collection activities have been closed due to the allegation of irregularities, corruption and nepotism in Nabiganj.
A 3-member probe committee has already been formed. Nabiganj government rice collection committee stopped the collection of rice after publishing the news.
The farmers’ lists included the names of local representatives, their relatives and other political figures instea of real farmers. The 3-member probe committee has been formed to investigate the matter on the orders of Habiganj-1 MP Gazi Mohammad Shahnewaz Milad with Nabiganj upazila Assistant Commissioner Ataul Goni Osmani as the convener.
The committee was formed by upazila executive officer and rice collection committee president Touhid Bin-Hasan.
