The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 on Tuesday sentenced Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JASAD) President Hasanul Haq Inu to 10 years' imprisonment after convicting him in a crimes against humanity case over the killing of six people during the July mass uprising in Kushtia.
The verdict was delivered by a three-member tribunal headed by Justice Nazrul Islam Chowdhury.
The other members of the tribunal are retired District and Sessions Judge Md Manjurul Bashid and District and Sessions Judge Nur Mohammad Shahriar Kabir.
The case was filed over the killing of six people in Kushtia during the July mass uprising. Following the trial, the tribunal found Inu guilty of crimes against humanity and handed down the 10-year prison sentence.
The detailed judgment, including the tribunal's findings and observations, is expected to be released later.
