The Hatirjheel Amphitheater in the capital came alive Friday morning as over 1000 enthusiastic runners took part in the 'International Youth Day Run 2025'.
The event was organised by RHSTEP in collaboration with RHRN Bangladesh Coalition Partners.
The event, held under the theme "Youth Empowerment for a Sustainable Future" and the slogan "Empowering Youth, Building Tomorrow", aimed to inspire young people to take active roles in building a better, more sustainable society.
Participants, including 800 external runners and 200 from RHSTEP and its partner organisations, competed in the 7.5 km race.
The run began at 6:00am, with Ultra Camp Runners (UCR) serving as the technical partner, ensuring a smooth and safe event for all.
Md Ashiqul Islam, Deputy Executive Director (DED) of RHSTEP, highlighted the importance of empowering youth with knowledge, resources, and opportunities to contribute to social and environmental development.
He stressed that collective action from young people can drive transformative change towards achieving sustainable development goals.
The International Youth Day Run 2025 not only celebrated the potential of Bangladesh’s youth but also created a platform for solidarity, awareness, and collaboration between different communities.
