International School Dhaka (ISD) has appointed Dr Mike Miller as its new director, bringing on board an experienced international educator with more than two decades of leadership experience in schools across seven countries.

In a statement, the school said Dr Miller assumes leadership at a key stage in ISD's development and will help guide its next phase of academic growth and institutional development.

Dr Miller's professional experience spans academic leadership, school governance, strategic planning and international accreditation. He has worked in diverse education systems and is widely recognised within the International Baccalaureate (IB) community, having served as an IB Evaluation Leader, Programme Evaluator, Workshop Leader and consultant, supporting schools around the world.

Expressing his enthusiasm about joining ISD, Dr Miller said he was looking forward to working closely with students, teachers and parents.

"I'm honored to join International School Dhaka. This is a school with a strong reputation for quality international education, and I'm looking forward to working closely with our faculty, students and families. Together, we'll build on what ISD has already achieved and keep pushing forward, helping our students grow into thoughtful global citizens," he said.

The school said it remains committed to providing a high-quality International Baccalaureate (IB) education that prepares students to thrive in an increasingly interconnected and rapidly changing world.

Established in 1999, ISD was the first school in Bangladesh to offer the full IB curriculum for students aged 2 to 18. The school currently serves students from 32 nationalities and maintains partnerships with Carnegie Mellon University and the Barcelona Soccer School. ISD celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2025.

The school is owned by STS Group, one of Bangladesh's leading corporate groups with investments in education and healthcare.
