The 34th International Day for Older Person was observed in Gopalganj on Tuesday with the motto “Respectful older age: Strengthening worldwide care and support system for older persons.”
A discussion was arranged by Gopalganj district administration and district Department of Social Service Office at the conference of Deputy Commissioner’s office “Swacchyata” on Tuesday morning. Gopalganj Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Mohammad Kamruzzaman presided over the discussion.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Md Golam Kabir moderated the discussion. The newly appointed Gopalganj Superintendent of Police Md Mizanur Rahman, newly appointed Civil Surgeon Dr Md Masud Rana, Deputy Director of district Department of Social Services Md Harun-or-Rashid spoke as special guests at the discussion.
Officers of various departments including Gopalganj district administration and district Department of Social Services, students and teachers of various educational institutions and older persons were present at that time.
