International conference on globalization ends at DIU

‘4th International Conference on Globalization, Entrepreneurship and Emerging Economies’ ends on Tuesday at Daffodil International University (DIU).

DIU in association with The Centre for Innovation Leadership Navigation (CILN), UK is organizing this conference for the first time in Bangladesh during December 8-10, 2019.

Professor Mesbahuddin Ahmed, chairman, Bangladesh Accreditation Council inaugurated the 3 day conference as the chief guest at 71 Milonayoton of Daffodil International University while Rear Admiral Mohammad Khaled Iqbal, vice chancellor (VC) of Bangabandhu Sjeikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University was present as the special guest. Presided over by Professor Dr Ahmed Ismail Mostafa, acting VC of DIU, the opening ceremony was also addressed by Mark T Jones, Center for Innovative Leadership Navigation, London, UK; Dr Md. Sabur Khan, chairman, Board of Trustees, DIU; Professor Dr Masum Iqbal, convener of 4th International Conference on Globalization, Entrepreneurship and Emerging Economies and dean, Faculty of Business and Entrepreneurship; Dr PR Datta, executive chair, Centre for Business and Economic Research, UK. Beside this Professor Dr Rashidul Hasan, professor of the department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, University of Dhaka was present as the keynote speaker.

92 Authors from 11 countries like Canada, UK USA, India, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Russia and Thailand including Bangladesh presented 75 Papers in the conference.

While addressing as the chief guest Professor Mesbahuddin Ahmed said that Bangladesh is fighting to reach the goal of developing country at present. In this situation, we need quality education as well as outcome based education. To fulfill this condition, we have to realize the difference between developed countries education system and our education system. This kind of conference will help us to realize that difference. He added. He thanked to Daffodil International University and other concerned organization for arranging this conference.

Professor Mesbahuddin Ahmed also said, to ensure quality education in higher education system in Bangladesh is too tough. Because, we have more than 2 thousand colleges those provide higher education. It is too much difficult to monitoring these huge number of colleges for ensuring quality education. But it is a matter of hope that Bangladesh Accreditation Council has already started work to ensure quality education. This conference will encourage the young researcher, innovator and entrepreneurs to ensure quality education. He added.

Rear Admiral Mohammad Khaled Iqbal said, Bangladesh is doing tremendous development in various sectors which reflects in their current indexes. Now we need development in education sector also. It is not possible to ensure development in education sector without research and new innovation. No doubt that this kind of conference will play a vital role to develop the higher education sector.  

He also said that the government of Bangladesh has already initiated lots of projects to develop the education sector. Private universities are doing better in various issues and this 3 day conference is the example of that.
