Bangladesh Parliamentarian Cricket Team beat Pakistan by 13 runs in the ongoing Inter-Parliamentary Cricket World Cup (IPCWC) 2019 in London on Wednesday.

The 17-member Bangladesh squad is scheduled to play New Zealand on Thursday.

Eight teams, divided in two groups, are participating in the event.

Top two teams from each group will play in the semifinals on July 12.

The lawmakers from Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Australia, Pakistan, India, England, New Zealand and South Africa are taking part in the event.

The IPCWC 2019 has been organised to spread the delight of world cup for the first time. The event kicked off on Wednesday.

Earlier on Sunday, the Bangladesh team, led by Naimur Rahman Durjoy, former captain of the Bangladesh National Cricket Team, left for London, a press release said.

It is expected that the tournament will help build friendship between MPs of the participating nations which could be termed “friendship in pitch.”
