Int’t Trade Fair begins in Ctg Thursday

The 28th Chattogram International Trade Fair, organized by Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will begin on Thursday (March 5) at the Polo grounds in Chattogram city. Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry informed it at a press conference at the Bangabandhu Conference Hall of the World Trade Center in Agrabad on Tuesday afternoon.

Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Mahbubul Alam said that no such big trade fair is being held at the private sectors in Bangladesh. He said that new products should be produced and exported. Then the economy of the country will become stronger.
He also said he is not sure of how many foreign stalls will be set due to the coronavirus. However, products will be sold from previous stocks in foreign stalls and they will not import any new products.

The co-chairman of the fair committee Syed Jamal Ahmed said that Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi MP is scheduled to be the chief guest at the inauguration. Besides, Deputy Chief Minister of Education Mohibul Hassan Chowdhury MP, Member of Parliament and former President of Chamber MA Latif MP and President of the Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Fazle Fahim are scheduled to attend the inauguration.

This year's fair has 20 premier pavilions, 33 premier stalls, 115 gold stalls, 28 mega stalls and 8 food stalls. The fair will have stalls from India, Iran and Turkey as well as from partner country Thailand. The fair will be open daily from 10am to 10pm.
