International Migrants Day was celebrated in Jamalpur with due importance in the light of the slogan 'Thakbo khalo rakho bo country, expatriate income in legal way-Garbo Bangladesh'. On this occasion, at 9:30 in the morning, a colorful procession came out from the freedom fighter Abdul Aziz square of the city. Later, a discussion meeting was held in the meeting room of the District Commissioner. Deputy Commissioner Sravasti Roy was present as the chief guest.

At the end of the discussion meeting, 2 lakh 40 thousand rupees education scholarship checks were given to 16 children of expatriate workers. Apart from this, Islamic Bank for bringing huge amount of remittances and expatriate workers Humayun Kabir and Sajeda Begum were awarded as the highest remittance senders.According to District Employment and Manpower Office sources, 5 thousand in 2021 and 22 thousand 144 people have been legally sent abroad till December 15, 2022.
