Int’l Literacy Day observed

International Literacy Day was celebrated in Ishwardi, Pabna on Tuesday. A discussion meeting was organized by Ishwardi Upazila administration in the conference room of the council on the occasion of the day at 10 am.

Ishwardi's UNO PM Imrul Kayes presided over the discussion. Salimpur Union Parishad Chairman Abdul Majid Bablu Malitha, Upazila Secondary Education Officer Selim Akhter, Social Service Officer Khandaker Masud Rana and Upazila Education spoke on the occasion. 

Upazila Senior Fisheries Officer Shakila Jahan, Information Officer Chandra Biswas and teachers of various educational institutions were also present on the occasion. 

UNO PM Imrul Kayes said in his speech that the current government is working relentlessly to build the country as a dignified educated nation. The government has made arrangements for the children of every household to go to school. Varies scholarships are granted to students. Free books, have been delivered to students' homes.

Addressing the teachers, he said that not a single person would be illiterate. He promised to build Ishwardi as a city with zero illiteracy rate. For this, he sought the cooperation of all.
