Int’l conference on climate change and food security to be held at DU

A 4-day long international conference on “Climate Change and Food Security in South Asia” will be held on March 18-21, 2020 at Dhaka University (DU) marking the Birth Centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

President Md Abdul Hamid will inaugurate it as chief guest.

A co-ordination meeting of the organizing committee of the conference was held on Tuesday at DU VC’s lounge with Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman in the chair. DU Treasurer Professor Dr Md Kamal Uddin, Dean of Biological Sciences Faculty Professor Dr Md Imdadul Hoque, Dean of Earth and Environmental Sciences Faculty Professor Dr A S M Maksud Kamal and Chief Coordinator of the conference Professor Dr A H M Mustafizur Rahman were, among others, present on this occasion.

Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman urged the members of the organizing committee of this international conference to maintain and uphold the dignity and beauty of the conference as well as Dhaka University.

About 200 scientists from home and aboard are expected to participate at this international conference.
