A two-day international conference titled ‘Governance in the 21st Century in South Asia: Challenges and Ways Forward’ will begin today on the Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus. Government and Politics department is organizing the conference at the seminar room of Zahir Raihan auditorium on the campus.
Bidyut Chakrabarty, Vice Chancellor of Visva Bharati University of India will address the conference.
Convener of the conference Professor Al Mashud Hasanuzzaman made the disclosure of the event at a press conference on Saturday held at the seminar room of Government and Politics department.
‘For the first time, we have organized an international conference at our department where teachers and researchers from around 25 universities from home and abroad will take part’, he said.
‘A total of 35 research paper will be presented at the two day conference. JU Vice Chancellor Professor Farzana Islam will inaugurate the function as the chief guest’, he added.
Chairman of Government and Politics department Prof Dr. Shamsunnahar Khanam, Professor Shamsul Alam Selim, Professor Abdul Latif Masum, Professor Abdul Mannan and Professor Bashir Ahmed were present at the press meet.
