A two-day information fair aimed at informing people about Right to Information (RTI) Act-2009 ended at Independence Square in Gaibandha on Monday.

District administration and district chapter of Sachetan Nagarik Committee (SNC) formed with the inspiration of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) arranged the fair.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abdul Matin formally inaugurated the fair through cutting a red tape at the gate of the square in the afternoon as the chief guest on Sunday.

Later, a discussion meeting was held at the fair venue with Jahurul Kaiyum, president of SNC in the chair.

Earlier, a colorful rally led by the DC was brought out from Independence Square and ended at the same place after parading the main thoroughfares of the town.

He later went round the stalls.

The programme was followed by a cultural function where the local artistes rendered songs.

A total of 36 stalls were set up in the fair where leaflets, posters, banners, and books including video films against corruption are being displayed.
