Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun MP inaugurated the 'Bangabandhu Corner' established at the head office of Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BCIC) under the Ministry of Industries today afternoon. State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Majumder MP, Industry Secretary Zakia Sultana and Chairman of BSIC Mahbubur Rahman were present at the inauguration ceremony of 'Bangabandhu Corner' at BSIC Bhavan in Tejgaon industrial area of the capital.
In the discussion organized on the occasion of the inauguration of 'Bangabandhu Corner', in the speech of the Chief Guest, the Industries Minister said that initiatives have been taken to establish Bangabandhu Corner in all levels of government institutions of the country. This initiative has been taken by the Ministry of Industry and its departments/organizations to inform the history of the Liberation War, the life and ideals of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. "Bangabandhu Corner" has been set up by BCIC to create an opportunity to learn about the ideals, lifestyle, political philosophy, leadership qualities, patriotism and all the activities of the great architect of the greatest Bengali freedom of a thousand years and the true history of our great liberation war, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The purpose of this corner is to inspire the officers and employees of the government institutions in the spirit of the liberation war, to develop their morals and mentality and to inspire them in the ideals of Bangabandhu.
The Industry Minister also said that the two names Bangabandhu and Bangladesh are closely related. To know Bangladesh we must know about Bangabandhu. Under the strong leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, we got independent Bangladesh, we got the red-green flag. Through this "Bangabandhu Corner" 1 thousand 700 officers and employees of BCIC and entrepreneurs associated with BCIC will be able to play a role in building Sonar Bangla by being inspired by the ideals of Bangabandhu.
It is to be noted that in the 'Bangabandhu Corner' installed in Bisik Bhavan, an artwork has been made with the title 'Liberation of the Nation in the name of people' with Bangabandhu's historic March 7 speech and freedom fighters. Bangabandhu has been featured in various photographs. The center is decorated with photo-biographies of Bangabandhu from birth to death, illustrious political and personal life, administration of the state. Besides, the biography of Bangabandhu has been presented in short form according to the year. Apart from this, various rare documents including the declaration of independence, photos and photographs of the news published in the national and foreign newspapers during the liberation war have been placed. There are also several letters written by Bangabandhu, liberation war and various books about Bangabandhu.
Later, the Industries Minister attended the inauguration and swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected representatives of the Central Executive Council of the BCIC Officers Association as the Chief Guest. BCIC Chairman Muh: Mahbubur Rahman administered the oath to the newly elected President of BCIC Officers Association Akhil Ranjan Tarafder and General Secretary GM Rabbani Talukder and other representatives.
