Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized 1.472 kg Indian tea leaves and 30 bottles of drug from No. 5 tea garden of Shatchhari at Chunarughat upazila in Habiganj on Monday. The tea leaves and the drugs were imported in the country through illegal way. Captain of BGB-55 Battalion Lt Col M Jahidur Rashid confirmed the matter. He said that on secret information, a team of BGB carried out raid and seized the tea leaves and the bottles of drug worth about Tk 4.5 lakh from the area. Nayek Shubedar Mirza Rashed led the drive. The BGB members or the law enforcers could not arrest anyone in this connection. However, a case has been filed in this connection, said the BGB official.
