Indian Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Karambir Singh arrived in Dhaka on Saturday on a four-day visit. During his visit, the Indian Navy chief will hold bilateral talks with Admiral Aurangzeb Chowdhury, Chief of the Naval Staff, Bangladesh Navy, Service Chiefs and other senior government officials, according to Press Information Bureau (PIB), India.
He will also visit Khulna Shipyard Limited, BN naval bases in Chattogram and Khulna and also address cadets at Bangladesh Naval Academy (BNA).
Besides, the Indian CNS will participate in the first anniversary celebration of Bangladesh Institute of Maritime Research and Development (BIMRAD). The Bangladesh Navy is an active member of Indian Ocean Naval Symposium (IONS) and is a member of all three working groups, viz Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR), Maritime Security and ‘Information Sharing and Interoperability’.
