The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained two persons including an Indian national when the Indian entered into Bangadesh territory without valid documents. They were detained from Mailbaria Dhakapara road under Moheshpur upazila in Jhenaidah on Sunday morning.
The detained Indian national was identified as Ashutosh Baroi, 23, son of Sukhchand Baroi, of Shikarpur village in Chakdah thana in Nadia, while the Bangladeshi national as Nasim Reza Babu, 28, son of Johar Sarder of Baghadanga in Moheshpur upazila.
Assistant director of BGB 58 battalion Nazrul Islam Khan said the patrolling team of BGB detained them from 300 yards of zero lines in inside Bangladesh territory at about 6am on Sunday.
The Indian national was detained when he could not produce any valid documents for his travel to Bangladesh, while Bangladeshi national Nasim Reza Babu was detained as he had allegedly helped Ashutosh visit Bangladesh illegally.
The BGB men also hunting another accused in the trafficking allegation Nasir Uddin, son of late Abul Hossain of village Aminnagar who also helped Ashutosh.
A case was filed with Moheshpur police staion and the detained were handed over to them, the BGB man said.
