Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Riva Ganguly Das visited Tungipara, Gopalganj on Monday and paid tribute to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. This is to mark the beginning of the 'Mujib Barsho', the birth centenary of the Bangladesh's founding father.
Both neighbors, who fought together in 1971 war of Independence of Bangladesh, will have joint events during the celebration from March 17, 2020 to March 17, 2021. India and Bangladesh are also jointly producing a film on Bangabandhu.
Laying a wreath at Bangabandhu's mausoleum, the High Commissioner recalled the contribution and sacrifice made by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for the Liberation of Bangladesh, the High Commissioner said.
