A group of cultural personalities from India arrived at Bogura and paid their respect to the martyred language movement heroes by placing floral wreaths at the foot of Bogura Central Shahid Minar on 21st February.
The Indian cultural and literary personalities belonged to the Members of Balurghat Muktakkhar Sahitya Srote of Dakshin Dinajpur, Dakshin Dinajpur district Press Club and the bi-weekly newspaper Anto Solila Falgu. The six-member Indian team arrived in Bogura responding to an invitation from the Sommilito Sanskritik Jote of Bogura.
In the morning, the Indian team members visited the various stalls of the Amar Ekushey Book Fair at Shahid Khokon Park. Local cultural activists and journalists welcomed them at the fair.
The Indian cultural team members include Social Worker Dipak Kumar Ghose from West Bengal, President and the General Secretary of Muktakkhar Sahitya Srote Asoke Kumar Ghose and Debashish Adhikary respectively, Birendranath Mahato from Anto Salila Folgu newspaper, Social Workers Pabitro Mohanto and Nirmal Mohanta.
Dipok Kumar Ghose said it was rare to sacrifice lives to save the Mother Language Bangla. He added though they live in India their Mother Language is Bangla and from that emotion and sensation they arrived in Bogura to pay respect for the martyred.
Debashish Asdhikary said Bangladesh is the only country which was achieved through the Language movement.
He further said the great achievement of the Bangalee has been mingled with the emotion which is why they rushed here by defying the barbed wire fencing.
Birendranath Mahato said, worldwide International Mother Language Day is being observed under the initiative of Bangladesh and they were proud to recall the martyred with respect.
They arrived here as a relative of their souls. Ashok Kumar Ghose said there is only one face of Mother Bangla through which we talk.
We mingle with the uniting of the two Bangla. Bangla is the language of our heart, we'll win the world through this language. Nirmal Mohanta said they arrived here to watch the emotions of the people of the country and they were all highly impressed by watching that.
Welcoming the Indian delegation, journalist Zia Shahin of Bogura said, a relation of souls has been established with the Indian team. We hold the same language. They made us proud by arriving here to pay tribute to our Language Martyrs.
Toufique Hasan Moyna, President of Sommilito Sanskritik Jote of Bogura said, there is a relationship between the cultural and literary personalities of Balughat of Dakshin Dinajpur with that of our country. They also came last year and this year they came again to pay respect to the Language Martyrs. They have mingled with our emotions and sensations.
