Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, recently met with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Dhaka to commemorate the successful full load commencement of power supply from the Group's Ultra Super-Critical Thermal Power Plant in Godda, India. This project marks the Adani Group's entry into transnational power projects and is India's first commissioned transnational power project where 100 percent of the generated power is supplied to another nation.

Following the meeting, Gautam Adani expressed his honor in a tweet, acknowledging the dedicated teams from both India and Bangladesh who worked tirelessly during the COVID-19 pandemic to commission the 1600 MW Ultra Super-Critical Godda Power Plant in a record time of three-and-a-half years.

Adani Power Jharkhand Ltd, a subsidiary of Adani Power Ltd, recently completed the dependable capacity test for the Godda plant, fulfilling a mandatory requirement under the power purchase agreement with Bangladesh. The test evaluated the simultaneous functioning of both units of the plant after they began supplying electricity.

The Godda plant's first unit of 800 MW capacity commenced commercial operations on April 6, followed by the second unit of the same capacity on June 26. Adani Power Jharkhand Ltd will supply 1,496 MW from the Godda Ultra Super-Critical Thermal Power Plant to Bangladesh under a 25-year power purchase agreement.

The commissioning of the Godda Ultra Super-Critical Thermal Power Plant highlights the Adani Group's exceptional project management and asset management capabilities. Despite logistical challenges such as the establishment of a 105 km-long 400 kV Double Circuit Transmission Line and the construction of a private railway line, the project was completed within a remarkable timeframe of 42 months after achieving financial closure and obtaining necessary clearances.

The COVID-19 pandemic added further complexity to the project, but Adani's engineering team demonstrated adaptability by conducting testing and commissioning remotely, utilizing tele-conversations and video conferencing. This achievement exemplifies the Adani Group's world-class capabilities in project management and asset management, placing them among the industry's best globally.
