India, Pakistan ready to lock horn today

The archrivals and the super powers of world cricket, India and Pakistan will face off each other in their 135th encounter when they will play the match in the ongoing 13 men’s ICC World Cup Cricket at Narendra Modi Stadium today. 

This will be the eighth meeting of India and Pakistan in the World Cup Cricket when before this match the Men in Blue have the all win success and Men in Green could not taste even a single win from previous seven matches they played.     

The battle between Pakistan and India always considered as the biggest match in any tournament. After four years Indo-Pak again ready to take on each other.   

More than 164 crore people in India and Pakistan, along with their thousands of supporters in all over the world are eagerly waiting to watch the match and ultimate result of the war of 22 cricketers are going to fight for the country on a 22-yard pitch.  

Tense gripped the fans all over the world, specially the fans of the subcontinent will be in under huge pressure during the match. The match is a big of prestige for not only the players but also supporters of the two countries. 

Whenever India and Pakistan clash in a cricket match, the stadium turned into always jam-packed with an enthusiastic audience. The two cricketing giants have a long history of cricket rivalry.   

India and Pakistan played more than a hundreds matches in the ODI formats, their head-to-head stats shows, India and Pakistan have clashed 134 times in ODI matches. Pakistan holds an edge in the ODI format as it has won 73 games, while India has won 56. Five matches have ended with no result. So far, India has won 11 games at home, while Pakistan has won 17. Even on Indian soil, Pakistan has won 19 matches. 

In the recent past India vs Pakistan clash was in the Asia Cup 2023 Super Four stage, India defeated Pakistan by 228 runs.

India- Pakistan Head to Head in World Cup Cricket - 

India won by 43 runs at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on March 4, 1992.  India managed 216 for seven from 49 over. In reply Pakistan were bundled out for 173. 

India beat Pakistan by 39 runs at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore on March 9, 1996. India scored 287 for eight from 50 over. Pakistan could manage 249 runs for nine wickets from 49 over.

The third match of India-Pakistan in World Cup Cricket held at Old Trafford, Manchester on June 8, 1999. India won by 47 runs. India scored 227 for six while Pakistan were all out for only 180 runs. 

India won by six wickets in the 2003 World Cup at Super Sport Park, Centurion, South Africa on March 1. Pakistan scored 273 for seven. In reply, India scored 276 for four from 45.4 overs.

India’s fifth win over Pakistan in World Cup Cricket 2011 at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali, Chandigarh on March 30. India won by 29 runs. They scored 260 for nine while Pakistan were all out for 231 runs. 

India won successive six matches over Pakistan in the World Cup Cricket defeated the rivals by 76 runs at Adelaide Oval on February 15, 2015. India managed a huge total of 300 runs for seven from 50 over. Pakistan were bundled out for 224 from 47 over.

India won the seventh match over Pakistan by 89 runs at Old Trafford, Manchester on June 16, 2019. India scored a mammoth 336 for five from 50 over and Pakistan scored 212 runs for six in 40 over and India won by D/L method.
