India on the 74th Republic  Day on Thursday announced the inauguration of a visa application facilitation center in Dhaka which will offer online form filling-up services to those who want this additional service at a nominal charge.

This comes as a great relief to those who were unable to fill up forms online and had to resort to using the services of agents for generating visa application forms at exorbitant prices.

The Indian High Commission said they had been receiving requests for such a center ever since online visa applications became mandatory.

High Commissioner Pranay Verma inaugurated this first of its kind facility at the Jamuna Future Park which houses the biggest visa application centre of the world - Indian Visa Application Centre (IVAC).

This Tk200/- per application facility will be an optional value added service provided by IVAC. This facility will be rolled out in other 14 IVACs in Bangladesh depending on demand, the High Commission said in a statement.

This will also save both time and effort of the applicants as the facility is located adjacent to the IVAC.

The State Bank of India manages IVAC since December 2005.
