India is Bangladesh’s biggest ally: Dr Rajiv

'India is the best ally of Bangladesh. No one can ruin our historical relationship. Which is recognized in the great Liberation War. Humanity has won in 1971. The Pakistan army was defeated by the Mukti Bahini and the Indian army. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman ensured the security of people of all religions in Bangladesh through the four national principles in the 1972 constitution.’

This was stated by Dr Rajiv Ranjan, Assistant High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh, in his keynote address at a discussion on communal harmony, development and progress of Bangladesh. Swapan Chowdhury presided over the discussion meeting on Wednesday at Loknath Mandir and Jagannath Ghat on the occasion of Titi Barunibathing. Special guests were Sheikh Nazmul Alam, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Crime Investigation Division, CID, Md. Zakir Hossain Khan, Additional Deputy Inspector General of Police (Crime), Chittagong Range, SM Rashidul Haque, Superintendent of Police, Chittagong, Md. Abdullah Al Mamun, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Feni. Super (Mirsarai Circle) Labib Abdullah, Chairman of Kerhat Union Parishad Enayet Hossain Nayan.

Upazila Awami League co-president Mihir Kant Nath, general secretary AKM Jahangir Bhuiyan, office secretary Syed Altaf Hossain, Kerhat Union Parishad president Sultan Gias Uddin Jasim and general secretary Sheikh Selim were present.
