India announces Bangladeshi winners of Yoga Day contest

India has announced the Bangladeshi winners of its ‘My Life- My Yoga’ virtual contest.
The winners would be getting cash prizes along with certificates. They are also nominated for the global competition of 

“MyLifeMyYoga” video blogging competition, the Indian High Commission in Dhaka said.
India announced the contest on the occasion of the 6th International Day of Yoga observed on June 21.

The pandemic prevented them from organising mass gatherings like every year in every capital of the world.
Instead, the Indian Ministry of AYUSH, the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and High Commission of India, Dhaka took an innovative approach and organised the My Life – My Yoga (also called “Jeevan Yoga”) Video Blogging Contest.

The contest was carried out with participation via the social media platforms of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Afifa Husain won the first prize in the youth under 18 years female category while Aparajita Shah won the second prize and Zaarin Subha Rupanty third.

In male category, first prize went to Mansif Helali, second prize Prosenjit Dey Arghya and third prize Arjit Shah.
In the above 18 adult-category for females, Shahanaz Begum was the recipient of the first prize, while Jhuma Biswas won the second prize and Ferdoush Ara Zinnate third prize.

Swarup Mazumder, Md Rokanuzaman and Keshob Mitra won the first, second and third prize respectively in the adult (18 years and above) male category.

Among yoga professionals, Rabeya Kahtun Orthy won the first prize while Chowdhury Abida Sultana second prize and Makhing Marma third prize in the female category.

Mazharul Alam won the first prize while Ashis Adhikary second prize and Shantonu Bappa Biswas third prize in male category of yoga professionals.
The High Commission said there was an “overwhelming” response from Bangladesh in the contest.
