Jamalpur-5 Sadar Constituency independent candidate Rezaul Karim Reznu's election campaign center and his supporter’s house was alleged attacked and vandalized by supporters of the ‘Boat’ symbol. This incident took place in Kasharupara village of Banschara union of Jamalpur Sadar upazila around 9 pm on Tuesday. Eyewitnesses said that in front of Kasharupada Government Primary School of Jamalpur Sadar Upazila, 15 to 20 supporters of ‘Boat’ symbol candidate Abul Kalam Azad suddenly came and vandalized the election campaign center of independent candidate Rezaul Karim Reznu with ‘Eagle’ symbol. At one stage they set the campaign center on fire. Later, they got angry and forcibly entered the house of the joint convener of the campaign center Md Alam. After hearing news about the incident, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) of Jamalpur Sadar Circle Md Sohrab Hossain, Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md Barkat Ullah, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jamalpur Sadar Police Station Muhammad Mohabbat Kabir and members of law enforcement forces visited the spot. Jamalpur Sadar Circle Additional Superintendent of Police Md Sohrab Hossain said, “We went to the spot after receiving a complaint of vandalism at a campaign center. legal action will be taken subject to investigation”.
