The country is today observing 50 years of independence which may not be feasible without visionary leader like Bangabandhu. In the political arena Sheikh Mujibur Rahman added value through creation of Bangladesh; creating brand image of Bangladesh as a sovereign country among the world which was created by him.
He possessed excellent leadership quality and charismatic power; Humanistic approach was exercised by him towards Bengalese and well-being of Bengalis was he done with agility. On February 5, 1966, Bangabandhu expressed his significant six-point program recognized as the Charter of freedom of the Bangla nation.
In the year 1968 the Pakistani government filed the notorious Agartala Conspiracy Case against Mujib and thirty-four Bangla civil and military officers. This false case created anger and hatred against the Pakistanis. The Awami League secured 167 seats out of 169 National Assembly seats in East Pakistan and won 288 out of 300 seats in the Provincial Assembly on 7 December 1970.The significant speech on 7th March, 1971 had proved his farsightedness.
He proved his political philosophy in the speech by motivating people, taking risk, assessing the environmental scanning to free from exploitation made by Pakistanis. Mujib was fully aware of the colonial problem of the Indian subcontinent that led to partition in 1947 and chance for west Pakistanis to create another colony in the eastern region. He wanted exploitation free society and country for Bengalis.
The present government under the able leadership of
Sheikh Hasina has been trying to improve the economic
scenario of the country with utmost care. But those
who are evil they must be punished without any sort of
hesitation and conspirators should be strongly handled
Independence of Bangladesh was gained through a nine-month guerilla war against the Pakistan Army, and their agents including paramilitary al badar-razakars-al shams which was caused in the death of around 3 million people during the independence war. Pakistani army started genocide on 25 March,1971 through operation Searchlight. When Pakistanis started genocide in the then East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) Bangabandhu announced independence, which he ensured in the early hours of the 26 March 1971. His message was: “This may be my last message; from this day onward Bangladesh is independent.
I call upon the people of Bangladesh wherever you might be and with whatever you have, to resist the army of occupation to the last. Your struggle must go on until the last soldier of the Pakistan occupation army is expelled from the soil of Bangladesh. Final victory is ours.” (CRI, 2020a, p.8). He acted judiciously and thought for the country fellowmen despite that he was uncertain about his own future in the hands of furious Pakistanis. In the west Pakistan prison, he had to face immense torture and they tried to break his nerve, but he was so self-determined that he did not bow down and his firm mental strength remained ever fresh.
Under his able leadership Bangladesh became independent on 16th December,1971 and India helped in the independence war as well as One crore refugee who left the country to stay in India to get rid of the oppression of the Pakistani forces and their local agents. He never bowed down in the Pakistan jail. Mujib returned to Bangladesh on 10th January, 1972 as world pressure was mounting on Pakistanis to release him.
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman foresaw the sequence the Pakistani colony in this part required to end when west Pakistanis started torture after British left in 1947. He waited for freedom and fought against Pakistani rulers for twenty-four years and was the firmest person to announce Independence of the country in the early hours of the 26 March 1971 as Pakistanis started “Operation Searchlight”.
Operation searchlight was the brutality over Bengalis by Pakistanis. Those who were his enemy to them he showed kindness and compassion and people from every corner could get access to him. He always bargained to keep Bengalese better off and tried to create welfare maximization which was a vibrant ideology and transformed him as a true patriotic ruler. He hated comprador classes as well as land grabbers and corrupt personnel as they were working as a devil forces in the society. He altered himself as a statesman of the Bangladesh. His virtues make him friend of oppressed Bengalese. He was a man of accomplishment. Without his strong determination to pulsating change, it is unlikely that Bangladesh would have attained independence.
Citizens of this country are now upright, privileged, elevated and delighted since independence earned by this patriotic leader Mujib with his super goal to ensure welfare of the citizens of the country. By learning and matching the qualities and thoughts of the great leader of the Bangladesh- Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, now time has come- the nation can be modified to fulfill criteria of welfare state for the public through arranging fairness of chances, unbiased distribution of wealth, and carrying with public responsibilities. His daughter fourth time Prime Minster of the country is now working hard in the following his path though the road is not so smooth as still conspirators are trying to create problems.
Mujib exercised uncompromising practicality, which is good for us, the pro- people-oriented leadership with emotional and social intelligence and elegance of transformations of thought and method that discovers a symmetry between practicality and idealism. Amartya Sen’s capabilities approach to development defines development as an increase in freedoms citizens have to choose preferred development options. Long before the capabilities approach Mujib tried to practice in real life to ensure development of the people through arranging freedom of choices among Bangladeshis during his tenure but it cannot act fully due to his sudden and tragic death. Bangabandhu’s political idea in the four guiding principles of state accepted by the constitution in 1972: Nationalism, democracy, secularism, and socialism.
The present government under the able leadership of Sheikh Hasina has been trying to improve the economic scenario of the country with utmost care. But those who are evil they must be punished without any sort of hesitation and conspirators should be strongly handled. Those who are land grabbers, they must be severely penalized despite their party affiliation.
Another humble suggestion is to the policy makers that to set up a societal banking system as per his ideology and also his daughter’s philosophy for the poor income strata people of country through channeling between micro savings and micro investments especially for the poor and down trodden people of the society under separate regulator.
Airports in the Cumilla ,Thakurgaon,Lalmonirhatand another airport near Padma river bank should be setup as early as possible under eight five-year planning of the country. Train line trough directly from Chittagong via Cumilla through gomati ,meghna and kachpur directly to Dhaka needs to be set up for expediting decrease of high population density of Dhaka city .Moreover, special emphasis needs to be given on growth with equity when the country is passing through fourth industrial revolution as well as adverse impact of COVID 19.
Mujib through expressing strategies grounded on liberal ideals with ethical values despite the fact applying them by means of the coercive strategies of radical policymaking and revolutionary leader tried to do betterment of the country people through sacrificing his entire life. As such he turned to become more than a leader then the statesman for Bangles. Bangabandhu always wanted those who are corrupt to get a penalty for their misdeed. He is also considered as magnetic leader as people always want to follow his decisions and tried to implement them.
Now his daughter Prime minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina is following in the footprint of her father and is devoting herself to bring about the welfare of the country people. Bangladesh is becoming LDC graduate by 2026 which is a great achievement for the country. Banking sector in Bangladesh as a whole now needs to bring under chain of command. However, some foreign organizations/consultancy firms such as namely pwc has been mismanaged in Bangladesh as observed by very low category published discussion book on ensuing forthcoming national budget. Hope that pwc, Bangladesh will be reconstituting its local branch/partner organization so that their international branch marking or yardstick remain full of truth and free from misleading information.
A great genius leader of Bangladesh, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Mujib was always in favor of easing trades and commerce to take place through domestic, regional and global value chain. However, Academicians, historians motionless do not have all the histories they need to completely comprehend the liberty fight of Bangladesh and suggestion an appropriate gratitude of the part of all the contributors.
Bangabandhu’s ideology is a continuous source of inspiration for Bengalis which includes working with honesty, devotion, removing disparity, gender balance and secularism. This in turn will help us to demonstration genuine respect to the memory of him. Mujib was not a mere individual but in fact an organization, a drive, a rebellion and an expansion who gave the birth of Bangladesh. Bangabandhu is the spirit of heroic verse and he turned to become part of history and lead the birth of the independent country -Bangladesh.
Nowadays growth with equity is the most challenging task for the government for which an economists committee need to be prepared. During 50years of the observation of the independent, we show hearty respect to our great leader Mujib shaheb. He also tried to focus on removing disparity and ensuring social justice. Without Bangabandhu the economic development of the country would not have been feasible. Bangladesh’s High Court on 10 March,2020 directed the government to announce the phrase “Joy Bangla” as the national slogan, which was historically used during the country’s 1971 war of independence against Pakistan. Another popular slogan was “Joy Bangabandhu”.
The discussion wants to conclude with his one of the valuable quotations which proved how he cherished, loved and concerned about well-being’s of Bengalese:
“As a man, what concerns mankind concerns me. As a Bengali, I am deeply involved in all that concerns Bengalese. This abiding involvement is born and nourished by love, enduring love, which gives meaning to my politics and to my very being.”
