Amid the current pandemic period, augmented food production eliminated the food crisis when many assumed that the country would go through an extreme food crisis. Good output and astute measures by the government thwarted any kind of food crisis in Bangladesh.
Numerous initiatives to increase rice production have been taken by the government. Much significance was given to cultivating more land and cultivating hybrid varieties of paddy. Various incentives including seeds and fertilizers have also been provided to the farmers, which led to increased growth in food production.
Now to make it sustainable, the government must remain consistent with the measures they are taking and also take up other initiatives as well. In order to make it sustainable, the quality of agricultural products must be maintained and our government should take a more holistic approach.
Our goal should be to build sustainable
business resolutions for farmers while
safeguarding safe food for consumers
We have to make sure that the farmers are able to produce products on a uniform scale and excellence. Bulk production is another crucial necessity, which under the existing system of our farming production cannot be safeguarded for a longer term.
Government and other private sectors should assist these farmers by providing them with apt information, suitable technology, and inputs to achieve better crop yields. Our goal should be to build sustainable business resolutions for farmers, while safeguarding safe food for consumers.
Our government has consistently reiterated that no one in the country will have to go hungry. Even after such dire effects of the pandemic, we have been able to fight the food crisis successfully so far and made sure that food, which is a basic substance for survival, has been given the highest priority.
