One percent export incentive and other benefits will continue for the country's readymade garment sector in the 2021-22 financial year.
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said this in his budget speech for the fiscal year 2021-22 in the Jatiya Sangsad on Thursday.
This incentive is being given from the financial year 2019-20.
The Finance Minister said, “As per the directive of the Prime Minister, additional one percent incentive has been given to various textile incentives in the textile and garment sector from the fiscal year 2019-20”.
“As a result, it has been possible to deal with the effects of the pandemic in this sector. Therefore, I am proposing to continue the additional one percent export incentive to the textile and readymade garment sector in the next financial year as well,” added the finance minister.
Two percent cash incentives to increase the inflow of remittance are also being continued for next fiscal year. Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal made the proposal in the budget for the fiscal year 2021-22 under the title ‘Bangladesh Towards a Resilient Future, Protecting Lives And Livelihoods’ with a focus on livelihood in the pandemic crisis.
