Incentive for 10800 farmers in Kishoreganj

Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) Kishoreganj has taken an incentive programme for 10800 farmers in 13 upazilas of the district during the current 2019-20 season.

Agricultural Extension Department sources said, under the programme farmers will get seeds and fertilizers for cultivating maize, mustard, ground-nut, summar-mug and winter mug.

A total of 10800 small and marginal farmers will get the incentive in the concerned upazilas of the district.

The upazilas are: Hossainpur, Kishoreganj Sadar, Pakundia, Katiadi, Karimganj, Tarail, Itna, Mitamain, Nikli, Austagram, Bajitpur, Kuliarchar and Bhairab.

Out of the total farmers, 5000 farmers will cultivate Maize, 5000 farmers will cultivate mustard, 200 farmers will cultivate ground-nut, 200 farmers will cultivate summar mug and 400 farmers will cultivate winter mug.

While talking to this correspondents Deputy Director (DD) of DAE Kishoreganj Md. Matiur Rahman said, in this programme, a farmer will get 2 kg seed, 20 kg DAP fertilizer and 10 kg MOP fertilizer for cultivating Maize, 1 kg seed, 20 kg DAP fertilizer and 10 kg MOP fertilizer for cultivating Mustard, 10 kg seed, 10 kg DAP fertilizer and 5 kg MOP fertilizer for cultivating ground-nut, 5kg seed, 10kg DAP fertilizer and 10kg MOP fertilizer for cultivating summar mug and winter mug.

The government has allocated Tk. 1 coror 15 lakh 21 thousand for successful implementation of the programme.

Necessary instructions were given to the concerned to distribute the seed and fertilizer smoothly among farmers within very short time, he further added.
