There is a new thing coming soon in TV. This is none other than the search to find new and energetic youngsters with a passion to direct from behind the cameras.
RTV, one of the private TV channels in the country, has taken a new effort to bring in young directors. The channel has now started a reality show to find a director.
To this end, Bengal Multimedia organized a press conference at Tejgaon Studio in the capital on Wednesday (September 9) afternoon. It is reported that the private channel is organizing a competition titled ‘Torun Nirmatar Noptun Golpo’.
At the beginning of the program, a minute’s silence was observed to mourn the late playwright KS Firoz.
After that, RTV CEO Syed Ashiq Rahman announced the start of the competition. He said, “Many talented young directors come up with short dramas or documentaries at different times and ask for broadcasting their work. It can be a great platform for all those talented people. Through this they can prove themselves. If we can bring in at least 10 young directors, I think this effort will be successful. And they will be given the opportunity to make dramas funded by RTV.”
Dewan Shamsur Rakib, head of RTV’s program, said actor and teacher Zia Uddin Kislu, general secretary of the Directors Guild SA Haque Alik, general secretary of the Actors’ Association Ahsan Habib Nasim and actress Munira Yusuf Memi will be involved as judges.
Munira Yusuf Memi said, “This is a very innovative approach to bring in new people into the mix and expand the horizon of youth directors. I think this competition is a continuation of that.”
The programme was presented by Syed Sabab Ali Arju, SA Haque Alik and Ahsan Habib Nasim also spoke on the occasion.
