State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid urges power sector officials to take initiatives to implement all projects before the stipulated time maintaining health safety rules.
He said on Thursday, “We have to put more effort to achieve 100% implementation of ADP (Annual Development Project) as desired.”
He made the remarks on Thursday while addressing a virtual meeting to review the progress of implementation of development projects of the power division from July, 2020 to March, 2021.
The state minister said, "It needs to increase publicity of work of the power division. However, there is no response on social media. There is need to increase communication with consumers. The progress of ADP implementation so far can be said to be good.”
Among others, Power Secretary Md. Habibur Rahman, Chairman of Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) Engineer Belayet Hossain, Chairman of Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB) Major General Moin Uddin (Retd), Director General of Power Cell, Engineer Mohammad Hossain and heads of office of various organizations under the power division also spoke in the event.
An official said, in the fiscal year 2020-21, the power division is implementing a total of 98 projects. Of these, 82 are investment projects, 10 are T.A and six are self-financed. The allocation in the ADP was Tk 24,768.22 crore. A total of taka 13,503.38 crore has been spent till March, 2021. Financial progress has been 54.70 percent and physical progress has been 61.97 percent. National progress is 41.92 percent.
