The Chatmohar upazila administration in Pabna on Sunday destroyed 15,000 meters of illegal current nets which was banned. On Sunday morning, Chatmohar Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Executive Magistrate Saikat Islam conducted a mobile court at Amritkunda Hat in Mulgram Union of the upazila.
Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Shariful Islam said, "We raided the Amritkunda market after receiving information that illegal current nets have been being sold at the market for several days."
At that time mobile court recovered a current net worth about 1 lakh 80 thousand Tk. Saikat Islam, Upazila Nirbahi Officer, said that during the raid at Amritkunda Hat, about 15,000 meters of banned current net was recovered from there. At that time, the sellers fled sensing the presence of authorities.
