IGP pays tributes to Bangabandhu

Inspector General of Bangladesh Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun has paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing a wreath at his mausoleum at Tungipara in Gopalganj. He paid the homage on Monday. 

After laying the wreath at the mausoleum, the IGP stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect to the memory of the Father of the Nation.

Later, he offered Fateha and Doa seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabandhu and other martyrs who were assassinated on August 15 in 1975.

A special prayer was also offered wishing for longevity of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun also signed the visitors’ book at the Tungipara Mausoleum Complex.

Special Branch (SB) of Bangladesh Police Chief Monirul Islamwas also present the IGP placed wreath at the grave of Bangabandhu. 

 Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) of Dhaka Range Syed Nurul Islam, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) of Barishal Range Jamil Hasan, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) of Khulna Range Moinul Haque, Khulna Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mozammel Haque, Gopalganj Police Superintendent Al-Beli Afifa, Tungipara Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Al Mamun, Municipal Mayor Sheikh Tozammel Haque Tutul, Municipal Awami League President Sheikh Saiful Islam, among others, were also present at the time.

Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun has been elevated to the rank of Senior Secretary. The Public Administration Ministry issued a notification in this regard on Sunday amending his contractual terms and conditions.
