Leading commercial vehicle manufacturing and marketing company IFAD Autos Limited has achieved a significant milestone by producing its 10,000th Ashok Leyland brand vehicle at its factory in Dhamrai on Saturday.
IFAD Group Chairman Iftekhar Ahmed Tipu accompanied by the Vice Chairmans of IFAD Autos Limited Tanveer Ahmed, Taskin Ahmed, and Tashfeen Ahmed, as well as senior representatives from Ashok Leyland's operations in Bangladesh and India celebrated the occasion.
Iftekhar Ahmed Tipu, Chairman of the IFAD Group, expressed his joy and pride in achieving this milestone, considering the challenging environment for heavy vehicle production in the country. He attributed the success to proper planning, hard work, and the united efforts of all involved. He also emphasized that the IFAD Group aims to lead in the manufacturing of vehicles with modern technology in the future.
Noting the revolutionary progress made by Bangladesh in heavy commercial vehicles over the past few years, Iftekhar Ahmed Tipu highlighted the significant foreign currency savings achieved through reduced imports.
The establishment of the Dhamrai factory by IFAD Autos Limited has contributed to meeting the rising demand for commercial vehicles domestically. He further mentioned that the factory now assembles top-notch AC and non-AC luxury buses and expressed optimism regarding the future increase in the annual
production capacity of automobile bodies to 1,000.
One of the significant advantages of the IFAD Autos Limited factory is the reduced time required for vehicle supply according to buyer demand. As the factory manufactures different models of AC and non-AC buses, trucks, and covered vans, the production costs are significantly lower compared to imported vehicles, providing benefits to buyers.
Iftekhar Ahmed Tipu highlighted that IFAD Autos Limited's private initiative has opened a new chapter in the country's history.
