Increase in prices of goods, suppression of fair movement of workers and oppression created fear in people's minds. So the working people have to stand against them and speak. If they are silent, tyranny will rise again.
The speakers said these at a discussion organised by the Bangladesh Labour and Employees Federation at the National Press Club on Friday.
Professor Moshahida Sultana of Dhaka University, Barrister Jyotirmoy Barua, Socialist Party of Bangladesh (Marxist) Coordinator Masud Rana, President of Bangladesh Physiotherapy Association Doctor Dalilur Rahman spoke on the occasion with the organization's president Manas Nandi in the chai .
In the discussion meeting, Manas Nandi said that the state did not provide work, instead, they tried to evict millions of working people who were trying to survive by driving rickshaws and auto-rickshaws without getting work, in the name of development. People wanted change and freedom from this confinement. Therefore, the fascist Hasina government fell in the coup of the students. Exploited, oppressed, oppressed people gave their lives in this uprising in the hope of liberation. Most of them are working people.
Moshahida Sultana said that the price of goods has not come under control. Fair wage movements are being suppressed. As a result, there is fear among people. Can't keep quiet. If the working people are silent, tyranny will rise again.
Masud Rana said, a labourer named Kausar Hossain was shot dead in Ashulia of Gazipur in the movement of workers after the uprising. The trend of oppression is coming back again.
Therefore, in order to get rid of this situation, the revolutionary trade union should be formed and strengthened and a united labour movement should be developed.
