‘If I serve honestly, I will be rewarded’

Md Ehsan-E-Elahi, chairman of the Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC), has said that people working in different positions in the administration with the mentality of serving the country, will be rewarded in this world as well as in the hereafter.

He said, “If I serve for the country honestly, I will be rewarded. I have served as chairman of the Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) and held various positions in the administration, including deputy commissioner. I have worked with honesty in that time. I have become the Chairman of BCIC with Secretary Rank (Grade-1) as a reward of my honesty and sincerity. I want to do something good from this position. If we do something good, it will remain as a charity and we will get its reward on the Day of Resurrection.”

He made the remarks while addressing a reception hosted by Kanaighat Association UK on Sunday night (January 31).

Kanaighat Association UK hosted a virtual reception for BCIC chairman Md Ehsan-E-Elahi on Sunday night (January 31).

Nazirul Islam, Chairperson of the organisation, presided over the event, while its Secretary Mahammed Mokhlishur Rahman moderated the programme. Members of Kanaighat Association UK and a large number of people from different countries of the world including UK and Bangladesh, joined event.

At that time, everyone congratulated Md Ehsan-E-Elahi for being promoted to the post of Secretary. Ehsan-E-Elahi joined the event from Dhaka virtually.

Organising Secretary of Kanaighat Association Faruk Ahmed Chowdhury, Assistant Secretary Harun Rashid, Treasurer Ahmed Iqbal Chowdhury, Vice President Anisul Haque, Abdul Malik, former president and current advisory committee member Ijjat Ullah, Sirajul Islam and Mokhlishur Rahman spoke at the virtual reception.

The guest of honor Ehsa-E-Elahi in his speech compared the event of Kanaighat Association UK with an international standard seminar. He assured that he would continue to work for his area in the future as he has done in the past.

At the end of the reception, a special prayer was offered seeking blessing for Bangladesh.

Md Ehsan-E-Elahi joined the BCIC as its chairman recently with the highest grade of salary structure as well as the Secretary rank.  Earlier, he had been serving as chairman of BRTC from August, 2019 as an additional secretary.

Born at Tichhati Noyagram village under Kanaghat upazila in Sylhet, Md Ehsan-E-Elahi is a highly accomplished and professional cadre of civil service with an experience of about 30 years in both the ministries and field administration. He held various key positions in that time.
