Film actor Nirab has been at home in lockdown for a long time due to coronavirus. The actor is spending time with his family away from the world of light camera action. A Mizan spoke to him about his time in home quarantine and other issues.
How are you passing your time?
Now I am spending time like others. I’m doing things everyone else is doing. I’m staying at home day and night. Being able to spend time with my family is great. I wake up in the morning and help with housework alongside my other work.
How many days has it been since you left home?
I have been in quarantine since 19th March. Since then I haven’t even left our housing society. I’m staying home according to government directives.
What is your message to everyone?
Since we are all in the home quarantine I want to request everyone to follow the government's instructions and keep a safe distance with each other. I think a lot of people are still unaware of coronavirus.
Again, many people are not maintaining anything knowingly. Some people are following the rules. So I will tell everyone to be aware because it is a terrible deadly virus. Only conscious cooperation of all can stop this deadly virus.
Aren't you frustrated by the quarantine?
I'm not frustrated at all because at this point I am learning a lot. That is helping me a lot in my mental development. Before, I could spend very little time at home as I was busy with work.
Now I’m at home all the time. I see how everyone spends their time. I am trying to make up for the mistakes I made in my life. I am trying to make the most of this time to improve myself. I am preparing myself better.
Are you missing work?
I really miss working now. Actually, shooting a movie does not last the whole month. However, after joining a movie, there are various activities starting from pre-production and meetings.
So even if there is no shooting, most of the time is spent outside the house due to busy schedule. There is no busyness now. So I'm missing shooting too.
Do you have contact with people close to you in media?
Outside my family, the people closest are the people are from media. The cinema world is my second family. I have regular contact with people from my second family. Without this communication, life under quarantine would not be good.
I think I would have been frustrated if I hadn't been in this home quarantine with my family members and cinema friends. That's why I'm mentally good.
What do you want to do first when the coronavirus period is over?
If I had the power, I would have stopped coronavirus first. At a World Health Organization press conference, I saw 102 companies working on the coronavirus vaccine.
If I was there, I would have advised 102 people to make a vaccine together. Besides, what I will do when the epidemic ends is still unknown to me.
