A delegation from the International Ethnosport Bangladesh Association (IEBA), headed by its founder and president Md. Al Mamun, paid a courtesy visit to the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Bangladesh, Park Young-sik, at the Embassy of Korea in the capital’s Baridhara, on Tuesday morning, according to a press release.
Other delegation members were IEBA Joint Secretary Md Walid Reza and Personal Assistant to the president Emon Rasul.
The meeting underscored the growing significance of Ethnosports as a bridge between cultures and a tool for promoting unity among nations. Ethnosports—traditional, heritage-based sports—are increasingly gaining global recognition for their role in fostering cultural diversity and mutual understanding.
During the discussion, Mamun presented an overview of IEBA’s ongoing activities and future plans, and highlighted the association’s mission to position Bangladesh in the global Ethnosport arena. He emphasized the potential of Ethnosports in youth engagement, intercultural dialogue, and the promotion of global harmony.
Ambassador PARK Young-sik commended IEBA’s initiatives in cultural diplomacy through sport and expressed optimism about future cooperation.
Both sides agreed to explore future collaboration opportunities in Ethnosport programs and cultural exchange initiatives within the broader framework of Korea–Bangladesh relations.
