Idol makers busy with last moment touchups

Followers of Sanatan religion expressed satisfaction with District Administration, District law enforcement agencies and Upazila Adminis­trations for ensuring to celebrate freely the largest religious festival Durga Puja in 4 upazilas of Chuadanga district, sources stated. 

Administrations especially police will be alert for maintain law and order in the district. All type of preparation has been taken to celebrate the festival, authorities said. 

123 Puja Mandaps have been set up in 4 upazilas of Chuadanga district. Of the total 23 Puja Mandaps have been installed in Sadar Upazila, 42 Puja Mandaps in Alamdanga Upazila, 32 Puja Mandaps in Damurhuda Upazila and 26 Puja Mandaps in Jibannagar upazila. 

It may be mentioned here, the artists have completed structural work in the Mandaps while they are giving colors and decoration on the idols for final touch gradually. On the other hand, some Idols have been given final colors. 

It is learnt from Sangkar Kumar Biswas of Taltala in the town, Taltala Puja Udjapon Committee of Chuadanga has spent about Tk.2,00,000 for making idols  in the meantime but other cost maybe pay at tk. 50,000. All costs have been collected from Hindu people. 

Upazila Nirbahi Officers of Chuadanga, Damurhuda, Alamdanga and Jibannagar arranged separate meeting with Samajik Samprity Committees for implement harmony in the society. Different professionals including imams were present at the meeting. 

Superintendent of Police Abdullah Al Mamun met with members of Hindu, Bayddya and Khristan Oikya Parishad recently through a meeting. Police Super Abdullah said police members, Ansar members and VDP members will be appointed at each Puja Mandap. 

Besides mobile teams will patrol to support on duty personnel for controlling law and order.  

Deputy Commissioner Moha­mmad Saiful Islam Khan exchanged views with all types of community leaders at Deputy Commissioner Conference Room a few days 

back to supporting the administration in view of keeping peace in the society.
