Durga Puja, one of the biggest religious festivals of Sanatan religion followers begins with the arrival of autumn. Idol artisans for this reason are spending busy time in Bera upazila ahead of Puja.

Idols of Goddess Durga are being created with the sweetness of the mind by scraping paint. Mandap preparation is going on to bring variety in decoration.

Durga Puja is only a few days away. Apart from the locals, artists from different places come in the upazila to make and paint idols.

Idol artist Shasthipal, Dhanupal, Shashankpal said that the clay work of the idol has already been completed. Now I am working with maximum concentration to make the idols attractive and perfect by scraping the paint. I hope that the work of making the idol will be completed before the scheduled time.

General Secretary of Bera Upazila Puja Celebration Parishad Sujit Kumar Karmakar told this correspondent that Durga Puja will be held in 62 Mandaps in Bera Upazila this year. The local administration has taken all kinds of preparations to complete the puja with joy and grandeur. It has been informed by the police administration that this year, compared to other years, necessary preparations have been taken to ensure that there is no deterioration in law and order during Durga Puja. Ansar and village police will be deployed in each temple along with police to ensure that devotees can celebrate the joyous festival of Durga Puja.
