Identity of body revealed, killer arrested in Rajshahi

The identity of the dead body of a young-woman dumped inside a drum in a water body beside the City Haat in Rajshahi on Friday has been revealed. The victim has been identified as Nanika Rani Roy (24) of Milonpur area under Thakurgaon sadar upazila. Recently she completed a Nursing Diploma from the Nursing Institute of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital and was working as a Nurse at a private clinic in Rajshahi city and used to reside at a dormitory in Pathanpara area of the city. 

Members of Police Bureau of Investigation in Rajshahi arrested Nanika's killer Nimai Chandra Sarker (43), a police constable, from a house under Lalpur police station of Natore district on Sunday early morning. Police also arrested three of his accomplices including the microbus driver and seized the microbus in which the dead body of Nanika was carried and dumped beside the City Haat area.  

Arrested Nimai Chandra Sarker hailed from Chardanga village under Ataikula upazila of Pabna district. He has been working as Rail Police (GRP) in Rajshahi. After arrest, Nimai Chandra Sarker revealed the identity of victim Nanika. 

Other arrested persons have been identified as Kabir Ahmed(30) of Adaripara under Kasiadanga police station, Sumon Ali(34) of Sreerampore area under Rajpara police station and Abdur Rahman (25) , driver of the microbus of Bilsimla area under RMP.
