Special Assistant to the Principal Adviser Faiz Ahmed Tai said that the main objective of the Ministry of Information and Technology is to provide seamless services to citizens.
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at a view-exchange meeting with officials from various levels of the Postal department, BTCL, BCC, Teletalk and ICT divisions at the Circuit House conference room in Chittagong city on Sunday night.
Chittagong Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Sharif Uddin presided over the program. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Pathan Md. Saiduzzaman and officials from various levels of the Postal Department, BTCL, BCC, Teletalk and ICT divisions were present at the event.
He said that the government is working to bring all the services of the citizens to their fingertips through the use of the internet. Measures are being taken so that citizens at home and abroad can avail government services from their homes.
Faiz Ahmed Tayyab said that even if all the services are not available through the National Single Withdrawal, there will be a huge change. Which will connect everyone through API connection. The government will look after its security and other related issues. As a result, a new ecosystem will be created in data operation. The problem of quality data will be eliminated through digital devices.
Faiz Ahmed said that the importance of information technology in preventing various crimes in the society is immense at present. A few days ago, a shrine was vandalized by announcing it on a microphone in Comilla, information technology played a big role in preventing that. Otherwise, the violence would have increased further. There are at least 500 engineers experienced in the information technology sector in our country. A company abroad becomes a billionaire with only 50 engineers. But in our country, that was not possible due to lack of adequate training and experience.
He said, legal reforms are being made with the advice and support of the World Bank for data governance. Through this, the ministry has taken initiatives to coordinate public-private services and launch National EPR, National Connectivity and National Service Bounce.
He said, a fiber optic concept has been adopted focusing on training programs, legal reforms, postal, ICT and BTCL. CLTP and digital address migration have also been arranged focusing on postal.
Faiz Ahmed said, areas and roads are coded in Britain. As a result, if you know the street coding address, you can easily find the road and house. Because houses are numbered. Although it is difficult in our country, it is possible to do it. Therefore, we want to bring coding to the addressing system through postal digital in the country as well.
