ICT division to provide programming training to students, teenagers: Palak

An agreement was signed on Thursday with the Directorate of ICT and IT training provider Coders Trust Bangladesh to provide training in freelancing, coding and programming to students and teenagers in the meeting room of the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology. In addition, another agreement was signed with the organization for the selection of course curriculum and trainers for the Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Centers implemented by the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Authority.

ICT Directorate Director General Mustafa Kamal and Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority Managing Director D Bikarna Kumar Ghosh and Coders Trust Bangladesh Chief Executive Officer Shamsul Haque signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations. CodersTrust Bangladesh Chairman Aziz Ahmed, Advisor Abdul Karim and related senior officers of ICT Department were present.

ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak was present as the chief guest at the MoU signing ceremony.

In the speech of the chief guest, the state minister pointed out that instead of looking at certificate-oriented education, we should focus on job-oriented education and said that Sheikh Kamal IT training centers are being established in 64 districts with the aim of providing employment to the youth of the country. Today's agreement is in keeping with the goal that the young generation can conquer the world with hard work and talent by acquiring skills in freelancing, coding and programming.

The State Minister said that in the last 14 years, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has built a developing digital Bangladesh on the principle of public private partnership. He said Prime Minister's ICT Advisor Sajeeb Wazed has put the technology industry on a strong footing.

He said 555 Joy Digital Service Implementation Training Centers will be set up under the EDC project. As a result, CodersTrust will get the facility to provide training in all those centers. Through this, our trainees will become smart citizens by acquiring technology knowledge and the economy will also be smart. He said that the training program will be started in the selected 13 Upazilas of the country at the initial stage.

Palak said that based on the four main pillars of Smart Citizen, Smart Economy, Smart Government and Smart Society, the modern form of Sonar Bangla of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's dream announced by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina by the year 2041 is a smart, cost-effective, innovative, knowledge-based, high-economy Smart Bangladesh. - People of all professions including students, teachers, journalists should come forward.

It is to be noted that under the direct supervision of the field level officials of the ICT Directorate, 10,000 people nationwide will be trained as skilled in freelancing/outsourcing in the first phase. A total of 625 trainees of 25 in each batch will be trained.
