Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) organized a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme on “The Role of Independent Scrutinizer to authenticate the E-Voting report of AGM and EGM” on Saturday on virtual platform.
Dr. Shaikh Shamsuddin Ahmed, Commissioner, Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Mohammad Sanaullah FCS, Immediate Past President and Chairman, Professional Development Committee of the Institute chaired the session.
Md. Selim Reza FCA, FCS, Vice President of the Institute gave the welcome speech. A K A Muqtadir FCS, Past President of ICSB and CEO & Chief Consultant, Al-Muqtadir Associates, Chartered Secretaries & Consultants presented the Keynote Paper on “The Role of Independent Scrutinizer for e-voting at AGM and EGM" and Mohammad Farid Uddin Chowdhury, Director, SATCOM IT Limited presented another Keynote Paper on 'Technical Issues relating to E-voting at the General Meeting 'under digital platform'.
Vice President of the Institute in his welcome speech thanked everyone for joining the programme and expected that Members would be benefited through this session. He specially thanked Dr. Shaikh Shamsuddin Ahmed for his kind presence.
A K A Muqtadir FCSin his keynote presentation elaborated different factors of Independent Scrutinizer to authenticate the E-Voting report of AGM and EGM.
He also discussed the special features in the BSEC directive. It is stipulated categorically that, the due process of votingand detailed information of voting results shall be authenticated by-the concerned stock exchange(s) or by an Independent Scrutinizer
Chief Guest Dr. Shaikh Shamsuddin Ahmed highlighted that Chartered Secretaries has a big role. ICSB is contributing greatly in the corporate governance and economic growth of this country.Company Secretaries need to be further trained by this CPDs.
